Things appear to be heating up in Ukraine, as Russian forces continue to amass on the edge of Ukraine, in full view of the world. Putin continues to deny everything, but the overhead shots and information coming in from, well, everywhere shows a huge buildup of Russian soldiers and equipment on the border with Ukraine.
But the Russians appear to be making moves behind the scenes as well. According to reports, the Russian military or para-military groups (GRU? who knows) have been reported to be moving at least one team of operators into Ukraine ahead of whatever is happening on the larger stage.
These operators are apparently moving into Ukraine disguised as civilians, deploying throughout the country. It’s unknown what their exact objective is, but US intelligence believes that their target is actually Russian forces, not Ukrainian. The idea is that they’ll stage attacks against their own troops, staging them to appear as though the Ukranians attacked, and providing a pretext for for war, in what’s known as a ‘false-flag’ operation.
And before anyone thinks that this sounds far-fetched, they only need to go back to 2014, when the Russians conducted an identical operation to this – right before they attacked Ukraine. Sound familiar?
